During the Book Month and on the occasion of the Croatian Library Day, the “Little free library” – a small wooden house for books – was set up in Vižinada (the small town where our office is located).
It is in fact a little outdoor library, a new member of an international project called Little Free Library set up in 70 countries worldwide so far, pointing out the importance of growing and enriching our minds with a book during our daily activities and in outdoor places. It is intended for readers of different ages and different reading interests. They can all, whether residents or tourist visitors of Vižinada, leave a new book or borrow the left ones, with no signing, no registration and no working hours, every day, all year round, and then return it after having finished reading. With this idea our municipality received as well the opportunity to have its own library, even if only a small one.
The project was realized with the collaboration between the Poreč City Library and the Municipality of Vižinada, while the design of the outdoor library was created by Studio Sonda. We wanted you to feel at home while reading a book in Vižinada…
