Unique in the World, designed to encourage creativity, WE are ONE skis are the result of the Sonda Designed by People program, a series of educational workshops that invite individuals without prior design experience to work on real, market-based products and thus make creativity accessible with the aim of proving its high efficiency when adequately mentored and encouraged. Participants in the program get the opportunity to develop real products under the direction of experts through seven stages, from project assignment to production and promotion.

It is a continuous program that takes place in the Sonda Creative Center in Vižinada (Istria, Croatia), with the aim of producing a market-relevant product designed by people at least once a year. At the same time, it provides an opportunity for all interested brands who want the design of their products and campaigns to be produced by their users to engage in socially responsible action and gain a new perspective on how their products are seen by those who use them. The call was open to all people who were interested to join the program and participate in the design of a market-relevant product, regardless of their previous knowledge or expertise. For the first workshop, the six most motivated participants from dozens of applications were selected – Jasna Kofol, Jelena Vojinović, Marina Močibob, Valentina Beg, Mirna Ljuština, and Josip Čaušević. Elan, a Slovenian sports equipment manufacturer and well-known ski brand that has been a longtime partner of Studio Sonda for almost 20 years, was one of the first organizations to recognize the program’s uniqueness and quality. Elan then entrusted Sonda and the chosen candidates with designing high-tech, unisex Elan skis.

The skis were presented to the public for the first time in June this year on the occasion of the opening of the Sonda Creative Center in Vižinada, where they have been on a permanent display ever since. All those interested will now have the opportunity to view them as part of a free exhibition, in the experimental showroom of the Brigada studio in Zagreb (Kaptol Center), which will be open to the public until November 30th. The installation will be available to the public for viewing every weekday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Over the next two weeks, visitors will have the chance to learn more about the idea that inspired the final, presented solution, as well as to pre-order their own unique and authentic pair of WE ARE ONE skis for the upcoming ski season, which will soon be made available for official sale.
