The Croatian Design exhibition 0910 opened on Tuesday 21st, 2010, on which occasion names of the winners were published by the members of the jury.  Sonda’s Poster, made for the Festival of used Books Booktiga 2009, wins the Grand award from the Croatian designer association!

The jury explains:

“The jury has given the Grand award to an outstanding project which showing clear understanding and respect of contents and the media stands out in the category of visual communication, in which most of the works are presented in their various dimensions and approaches. It is about a work that owns qualities this Jury would like to promote by giving this award, such as: openness, warmth and true knowledge of the profession, in contrast to calculation and emotionless professionalism. The award goes to the work that stands out with a clear message mediated in a  graphically intelligent and not high-flown way, in a modest format and with simple tools. Realizing a clear, nearly organic connection between content and form, the work (it’s about a POSTER) bravely stands out of ordinary profession’s rules and actual designers’ trends. The word is about Booktiga project – a poster designed for Festival of used books in Poreč – realized by Studio Sonda. By recycling last year’s festival poster makers did not only illustrate the content of the festival but achieved a new quality.”
