To make a positive impact is too important for us to leave it to someone else, to some fictitious designers. In fact, the book says that every designer can and must change the world. What is needed is to be true to yourself, your values and to be aware of how much design can affect other people and make the world a better place.

The work created by Studio Sonda, Booktiga 2009, was released in this Handbook as an example of how it is possible to use second-hand making it become equivalent to something new.

“You do not have to create perfection. Small acts made by a lot of people make a huge difference. This is not a competition about who is environmentally more conscious or more radical. This is a movement, and we invite you to join it. Designers who want to change the world are present in the present moment. Each of their works, every customer is an opportunity to make the world a better place,” was the message of the authors Noah Scalin and Michelle Taut.
