‘Exhibition Ranieri Mario Cossàr, ethnographer – Level of reality: Between creativity and authenticity of photographs from 1928’ is a new exhibition we have set up at the Ethnographic Museum of Istria
Atelier Pelikula is an international project for young people from diverse cultural, social, and economic backgrounds, including those from Istria, Trieste, and Rijeka. This innovative initiative, carried out by the organizations Sonda from Vižinada, Filmaktiv from Rijeka, Primi Piani APS from Trieste, and the Municipality of Vižinada is funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ program
The work is dedicated to great Croatian poet Tin Ujević and it’s questioning society’s relationship with those who create art, both after their death and, more importantly, during their lives
Ballet diva Carlotta Grisi was born in Vižinada in 1819 and today her name is an ever-present entry in numerous European and world dance encyclopedias. The connection between Carlotta and Vižinada encouraged us to start researching her character and work which resulted in an interactive exhibition and the design of a monograph.

As part of the European design festival, held in Luxembourg, Sonda was awarded the European Design Awards for the interactive installation Travelling by Batana, conceived for the Batana Eco-museum
Interactive installation in Rovinj takes the user on a time travel, and enables the ‘control’ of the Batana boat for 5 minutes.
3 of our projects were awarded at the Exhibition of Croatian Design 21/22, an overview of the best design works from Croatia in the past two years: Dorina, Kornarija and Travelling by Batana
The first commercial ski designed by people with no previous experience in designing a specific product, but with the desire to show how their own creativity, with adequate guidance, can be translated into an effective product, was presented in the experimental showroom of the Brigada studio in Zagreb.
As many as 14 of our works were selected for the Exhibition of Croatian Design 21/22, the most important professional design event in Croatia! The range of the oeuvre is further highlighted by the fact that the selected works will be presented in 6 categories: complete design project, packaging design, design in digital media/interaction design, visual communication design, concept/initiative, critical design and spatial and graphic interventions/systems
Studio Sonda as the only representative of the Adriatic region, brings home from Paris two EPICA awards for the work 100% Covid Free journey. A silver in the category of integrated campaign and a bronze in the category of COVID-19 communication.
The central and the most important professional design event in Croatia will present six Studio Sonda’s projects: Radenska in a can (client Radenska Adriatic), Authors’ boras (client EPK Rijeka 2020), Endless greeting card (client Ministry of Environment and Energy of the Republic of Croatia), Visual identity HNK Ivan pl. Zajc – Croatian National Theatre Ivan pl.Zajc (client HNK Ivan pl. Zajc) and King ice cream in a cup 2x – as a complete project and for packaging design (client Ledo/Frikom)
Studio Sonda’s three works showcase at the 55th Zagreb Salon, held in the Technical Museum Nikola Tesla
The book On the power of creativity provides an overview of Studio Sonda’s fifteen years of work and activity. It tells the story about how a self-initiated project led to the existence of a creative studio that boasts award winning and globally represented projects. Moreover, Studio Sonda is situated in a village of only about 300 people, Vižinada (Istria), where it significantly affects the development of the environment in which it operates.

Sonda was invited to showcase the review of its creations through the choice of design works realized in the last 15 years
The Gallery of the Croatian Designers Association has hosted Studio Sonda and its works from the last 15 years. The curator of the exhibition is Marko Golub.
It’s so important and marvelous when it is about a hairdo, but all of a sudden so disgusting when you find it in the soup… At the same time, from a historical, mythological and economic point of view, it’s indeed vey important: the Hair! The Ethnographic museum of Istria has set up an unusual exhibition studying the importance of the intriguing concept of hair. The authors are Tamara Nikolić Đerić and Ivona Orlić.
Designaustria has awarded Studio Sonda with the Joseph Binder Distinction for the Piquentum wine label, in occasion of which the work is being showcased in the Designforum gallery in Vienna until January 27th 2019.
